Bought this to match my 617. Like it, it's a tack driver! Not much different than the 617. It shoots great! Recoil is not any more noticeable than the 617 of the same barrel length. I had a nickel size group shooting cci at 25ft. No miss fires after 200 rds. Trigger pulls aren't bad for a 22 needing the heavy hammer! I did change the rubber grips to a set of Hogues. Preference to wood grips. That said, the rubber grips are nice. If you like 22s but want a little more punch... this is it.

I Love my S&W 648 .22 WMR. I already have the 617.22 LR and I wanted its big brother to go with it. And it didn't disappoint. It's a wonderful addition to my S&W Family. Beautiful Stainless Finish, with 8 round cylinder, great feeling comfortable grips, I love the 6-inch barrel and it shoots great and with the added firepower it really is a must to have. The cylinder locks up really tight the trigger is smooth as silk. I highly recommend the 648 .22 WMR you'll love it, the Smith & Wesson Quality is superb!

This is a great gun that shoots very well. It has no recoil either, but don't forget your hearing protection!

The quality of this model and build are impressive. Really enjoy shooting Revolvers, the feel and weight, and quick clean. Smith&wesson big time good.

I don't review a gun until I actually put some rounds down range. As far as the pistol itself, well machined and put together, very tight. I ran about 200 rounds through it at the range, had around 10 to 12 misfires using fiocchi 40 fmj ammunition. After that the cylinder failed to go into place and lock up. I had to send it back to SW for warranty repair, a bad ejector rod was the culprit. After I got it back, no misfires and operated smoothly. Sh@t happens but wouldn't expect that out of a 949 dollar revolver. I knocked a star off of it for that but sw customer service was good to deal with.

This gun is so much fun to shoot! Awesome! And the quality is 2nd to none! Bud's is also awesome and 2nd to none! If you are thinking of buying this gun don't hesitate! You will not be disappointed!

I like the visual look of Stainless Steel. This Smith and Wesson fits my hand perfectly. I haven’t shot it yet but I have a couple of tree rats in my trees that this .22mag will take care of.

I've had this pistol out to the range 6 or 7 times now. So far its worked perfectly, as it should for a revolver of this price. It's very accurate and a ton of fun to shoot. The build quality is very good and on par with most of the Smith and Wesson firearms. I do feel that the sight could be a little better. Maybe a red ramp on the front sight like its bigger brothers. But all in all a great gun to take to the range or perhaps shoot some small game with.

Size was the same as the 617 22lr but definitely a step up in power. Very accurate

What a shame....Ordered this revolver as a “Veteran’s Day” present to me. Picked up firearm from FFL on the 14th but didn’t shoot till today! Disappointing that as a revolver it should fire EVERY time the trigger is pulled. Used CCI .22wmr Hp’s (recently purchased) and fired a total of 42rds with 9 misfires. Unknown if it’s a spring issue or what but very disappointing..

Well made gun. Tolerances very small. Cylinder has only a few thousandths free play on shaft. Odd that they do not make the trigger out of stainless like the rest of the gun. No scratches, no defects, first class.

First impressions are that the gun is awesome and overbuilt and after 2 days of owning it ive put 650 rounds through it. Amazing accuracy and reliability. If your thinking about buying it just do it.

Buds was fantastic!! Ordered gun on Tuesday; picked it up at FFL on Thursday. The gun, that's a different story. Put 48 rounds in the gun and only 21 fired. Put the misfired 27 rounds in another 22 mag handgun and all 27 fired. My opinion, light primer strikes in the 648. Called S&W, they emailed a shipping label and FedEx picked up the gun at my home in 1.5 hours. S&W service was great. S&W has had the gun for 5 days and no word from them yet, but let's give them a little more time. I may change my mind on the product rating when I get the repaired gun back from S&W. We will see.

Great revolver. Top quality and will last longer than I will. An investment in Quality.

This gun is just as fun as you all think it would be. The first few cycles were a bit rough, but after a brushing it ran great. Keeping the chambers and under the extractor brushed out is important. It doesn't burn all the powder so you will get some back, just keep it cleaned out. I have been shooting Win. Super X 40 gr. through it and it's very accurate and no misfires. It's an amazing shooter, very good SA and DA trigger, and though pricey, after shooting a few you get over it. What I expected from S&W. Would buy it again.

This is my second purchase from Bud's and I am very pleased with each. Even amid the Virus Pandemic the shipping process was not slowed down a whole lot. I have been able to procure two difficult to find guns from Bud's with little difficulty when nobody else could deliver. I'm very satisfied with every aspect of Bud's.
