Buds selection, And shipping was right on time. I received this pistol with a improperly pinned loose front sight. I had a gunsmith install a fiber optic front sight as a replacement. so all is well. I had an issue with the front sight on the model 60 Smith and Wesson I bought as well. I had to have a gunsmith do some machining just to get the OEM sight to fit properly. I later had a fiber optic sight installed professionally. I am definitely going to think twice about purchasing a Smith and Wesson revolver unless they step up their quality control.

This one was a lemon. Before taking it out, I cleaned and lubed it, but when I went to shoot it, I experienced two to three light primer strikes every cylinder. The problem occurred with both double and single action. I tried three brands of ammo -- Fiocchi, American Eagle, and PMC. No difference. I then tightened and put loctite on the tension screw. Things improved somewhat, but I was still getting a light primer strike every couple of cylinders, especially after shooting single action. IMHO I've done enough trouble-shooting on this, and it's going back to S&W for service ASAP.

I'm a big fan of S&W revolvers and had a 3" 686 years ago which i foolishly traded away. As I get back into .357 caliber, this is one I picked first. Beautiful handgun, heavy enough to dampen magnum loads, but shoots 38 Special as well. I have taken this to the range several times and it is very reliable. Bud's provided a great product, price, and service. Thank you Bud's!

FANTASTIC firearm!! Couldn't be happier with it. I've put 100rds through it so far and it is just a joy to shoot. I enjoy carrying this firearm as well, it's a little big (as to be expected with an L-Frame revolver) but completely doable. Very comfortable to shoot. Trigger, hammer, cylinder, all work great. Very happy with Buds as always, lightning-fast shipping and the purchasing process was simple and smooth. Very much recommend this 7-shot revolver for anyone looking to lay some .357 mag loads with ease!

I've always wanted a 357 mag. revolver but never found a good deal to motivate me into buying one. Well finally I got one thanks to Bud's and I have to say this revolver surpassed my expectations and for less than a Colt. This is a piece that can be passed down thru generations an instant classic, I am very happy with this revolver, it screams class and versatility.

Smith and Wesson continues to set the standard. Very concealable but whoo boy does it bite when needed. Beautiful work all around. Great customer service from Buds as always.

Great gun, but I wish I would have just got the 4" barrel model. This thing is still too big for any kind of practical conceled carry so might as well have the longer barrel.

Transaction and shipping were easy and drama-free. It is a beautiful revolver, fits the hand perfectly and is extremely accurate considering it has a three-inch barrel. My only concern is that after about 500 rounds, both the yoke screw (on the right side) and the cylinder release slide screw (on the left) backed out. I'm not sure if the factory uses locktite on these screws but maybe they should. This is not what I expected from a new Smith & Wesson product. I resolved the problem myself and it has been fine for many months after applying locktite and torquing down the screws. If not for that I would have given the gun 5 stars.

Great carry revolver but still enough sight radius to be accurate

Great revolver. Shoots fantastic and easy to conceal. This gun will be around long after I'm gone. If you are on the fence about buying this the only regret you'll have is not getting one.

It has alot of recoil its not the sane like shooting a semi. Grips gotta change a bit

I bought this revolver a few years back. It was my first S&W revolver. It has lived up to the Smith reputation. Feels great in the hand and is easy to make hist, especially for a 3". I did have issues with light primer strikes at first. S&W fixed it quickly, with no cost to me. I have to think I just got an unlucky draw on this issue. But, S&W's outstanding customer service takes the risk out of purchasing a gun. This one will be passed to my son when the time comes. The standard sights, adjustable rear and black blade front are very good, but I put Meprolight trits on it. I intended to carry it but it's a little heavier than I prefer for that purpose. With the trits, it makes a great bedside table defender.

Very awesome hand gun! Of course it is kinda heavy but its a solid and fun gun.

The Smith & Wesson 686 plus is in my opinion the perfect training weapon. If you can learn to shoot a double action revolver well you can manage trigger control for any other type of weapon. The 686 plus gives me the ideal combination of weight to handle recoil and grip comfort to fit my hand. It has been an accurate and dependable range partner since the day it arrived.
