Brownells .44 caliber 5° Ruger-style barrel chamfering plug gauge is a self-piloted, precision-ground, hardened stepped gauge used to check the barrel throat diameter against a very narrow accuracy-optimized range. By slipping the plug gauge into the barrel throat, you can visually confirm when the throat diameter is approaching the correct size, helping prevent going too small or too large.
