A: The 70 series lack a firing pin block, According to Colt : Series 80 : Colt released a new 1911 design dubbed the Series 80 (also named for the decade during which it was released) with a few design changes. First was the addition of a trigger-actuated firing pin block. Similar to the transfer bar safety common to double-action revolvers, the trigger must be pulled to unblock the firing pin.

A: Its mostly to indicate its newer. The differences are extremely minimal.

A: Ships in a custom blue box. Finish seems to very wildly for everyone for some reason. But you have the right to refuse it at the FFL and send it back at no cost for a replacement.

A: The right top of the magazine has to slide over and depress the magazine catch. See if that area is smooth. If not lightly deburr it and try again. The area where it latches should be smooth also.

A: It is a nice polished Blue but not a super glossy finish but still a very attractive blue. I would say the photo is accurate
