A: Hi Isaac and welcome. Yes Sir it is. Good NJ read here: -- https://www.reddit.com/r/NJGuns/comments/1k5vonn/my_shockwave_needs_a_friend_new_mossberg/ -------------- Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

A: Hi Isaac, unfortunately this is not NJ legal. A pump action Shockwave is NJ legal, but the new semi-auto Aftershock has not been deemed legal by the NJSP. Ask you local FFL. I am a NJ resident and my FFL tells me it is not NJ legal. It's the same category as the RIA VRF14, which is not NJ legal. Stay safe & have a great day!

A: Good evening to you!! The Mossberg 990 shockwave receiver is drilled and tapped for optic mounting plates. You can mount a brace as long as it retains the oal of 26". Hope this helps. Have a good rest of your day.

A: Hi Phillip and welcome. Yes, you would need this picatinny rail mount: https://www.shotgunheatshield.com/mossberg-940-930-935-12-gauge-mount-picatinny-mount-milled-aluminum-torx-and-wrench/ ------------------------------ or a direct mount red dot adapter: https://www.gggaz.com/mossberg-940-pro-rmr-red-dot-scope-mount.html ----------------------- The picatinny rail gives you more optics options. A brace can be added as long as the overall length is a minimal of 26 inches. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

A: Yes, add optic with the addition of a piccatinny rail.
And, you may add a brace as LONG as you maintain a minimum length of 26".
Don't want the ATF comin' & bustin' down your door 😆

A: Yes, you can add an optic by adding a piccatinny rail. You can add a brace but remember it must maintain a minimum length of 26".

A: Hi Phillip, you can add optics by attaching this picatinny rail >>> amazon.com/Monstrum-Tactical-Mossberg-Shotgun-Picatinny/dp/B00ME8SZFS You can add a brace as long as you maintain at least a length of 26" >>> https://texasshooterssupply.com/product/tss-mossberg-500-590-maveric-arm-brace-sb3-type-2/ Stay safe & have a great day!

A: Hi Chris and welcome. Yes, it is federally classified as an "Other" firearm (not a traditional shotgun or short-barreled shotgun) because it lacks a shoulder stock, uses a birds head-style grip, and maintains an overall length of over 26 inches. A: No, the Mossberg 990 AfterShock (semi-automatic 14.75-inch barrel firearm) is not legal to purchase or transfer in Washington state. • Semi-Automatic Assault Weapon Ban: Under Washington's House Bill 1240 (which took effect in April 2023), the sale, manufacture, distribution, and importation of defined "assault weapons" are prohibited. This ban covers semi-automatic shotguns that feature elements such as a pistol grip, folding/telescoping stock, or specific tactical configurations, as well as semi-automatic firearms matching the AfterShock's classification. Excerpt from Washington State DOJ page. Best way to figure it out since you have a yes and a no. Try to check out. If the firearm is not Wa compliant you won't be able to check out. If it's compliant you'll be able to check out.

A: Yes 💯‼️

A: No! https://www.budsgunshop.com/static/pdfs/illinois_restrictions.pdf

A: Hi Rashard and welcome. No, the Mossberg 990 AfterShock is restricted or cannot be shipped to Illinois by major firearms retailers. Cheers and stay safe!

A: No, UPC 015813830010 is not legal for purchase or transfer in Cook County, Illinois. This UPC corresponds to the Mossberg 990 AfterShock, which is a 12-gauge semi-automatic security firearm. Under both the Cook County Blair Holt Assault Weapons Ban and the statewide Protect Illinois Communities Act (PICA), a semi-automatic shotgun or "other" firearm with its specific configurations is heavily restricted. Specifically, statutory bans prohibit semi-automatic shotguns or tactical firearms that feature a detachable magazine or a pistol grip (such as the bird's head AfterShock grip). Because the Mossberg 990 Aftershock is a semi-automatic tactical platform lacking a traditional shoulder stock while utilizing a pistol-style recoil grip, it fails to comply with the local and state restrictions governing assault weapons.
