The MAC 9 DS is a great pistol based on the original 2011 platform. It came with good ironsights and 1 AOS RMR plate for a dot sight, 2 magazines that reportedly made by Checkmate and when I compared them with my 2011 Checkmate mags, they are identical with the exception of the engraved name. The factory recoil spring is a bit stout (feels like 13 lbs) but after I played around with a few lighter weight springs (9 and 10 lbs) I put back the OEM spring since I'm using full power 124 gr factory loads. Trigger is okay but that's easy to tune. I installed and sighted in an OSight C on the provided AOS plate, and surprisingly, the ironsight actually cowitnessed with dot sits on top of the front sight after sighted in. This MAC 9 DS is 100% so far with roughly 400 rds down range. Overall it is an outstanding product for the money, actually better value than my fairly new Springfield Prodigy Comp. BTW - Transaction with Bud's and my local FFL was flawless and quick.

Item arrived quickly and was well packaged. I have not yet shot any, but all rounds have consistently loaded OAL and heavy roll crimp as expected.

Best gun to have if you're ever attacked by a pack of grizzlies or one of those corn fed squirrels in Ohio.

This thing is a beast. Fit and finish is exquisite. Recoil is actually quite manageable given the weight of the firearm and the muzzle break. I've had.44 pistols that exhibit more felt recoil. If you are on the fence about buying one, go ahead and pull the trigger (pun intended). The buying process from Buds went flawlessly. The wait for the ACH transaction process was several days, but it was worth the wait. Will buy from Buds again.

This was the polished blued version recently released by SA, aside from the bluing it is the same gun as the other versions of the SA Hi-Power. The bluing is a deep dark finish and looks very good. Overall, the fit and finish is also very good. Early initial year guns had some comments regarding weak extractors, however, the spring under the extractor on this gun is very strong and extraction has not failed. Accuracy is good, and the gun is very comfortable in the hand. The wood grips are also very well done and fit very well to the frame. The added white dot on the front sight is a good addition, as well as the removal of the mag disconnect. The trigger is also very good. Unfortunately, SA only includes one magazine, however it appears that those mags are made by Mec-Gar, a Mec-Gar magazine functioned as well as the SA included one. All and all very pleasant to shoot.
