The Model 1885 single shot rifle was John Browning's first, and perhaps most important, design. Chambered in more calibers than any other rifle in history, the Model 1885 was a popular choice for target shooting, which gained enormous popularity before the turn of the century, with top competitive shooters given the same status in those days as any professional athlete today.
Today's modern Winchester 1885 have changed only in minor ways since those days, and only for the better. If you are up to the unique challenge of single shot rimfire hunting, this rifle is the perfect choice. Uncannily accurate, the Model 1885 has a trigger with a crisp, clean, adjustable break and is drilled and tapped for scope mounting.
