After returning it because I couldn’t get it to run. (The law was called because the old lady next door heard me cursing and shooting) LOL After I got the gun back. It’s been absolutely beautiful. It chews through ammo like crazy. Before the bolt would get stuck open. Now it runs great. Tula ammo is the way to go with these. The stock is really short, and better for small framed folks. But it’s pretty heavy so maybe a short body builder. IDK . I will say that when I reach for my self defense rifles that I bet my life on ,this is my 2nd choice. That’s saying something. Be ready to clean up ,and polish this rifle when you get it. I’ve spent many hours polishing the bolt on this gun. Maybe it’s a creepy love affair that has evolved. You be the judge. :)

Heavy gun. Kicks like a mule and will leave bruises through jackets. Reliable but still super heavy

Buds is tops as always, I have owned H&K 91's, G3's, and Cetmes's, PTR's and this gun is no different as far as functionality, of course there are differences in fit and finish but you are paying for it. The aforementioned weapons are all but impossible to find and not very affordable, The C308 has a new barrel and a receiver made by PTR so if you want a plinking battle rifle like these you need to jump on it before the supply of surplus Cetme parts are depleted, I have had 0 problems with mine I put the wood furniture back on it and replaced the lower with a metal one. These roller locker type actions are rough on the brass if you reload other than that I'm satisfied with it.

I own ARs from Colt to PSA, I have AKs, and all sorts of shotguns, lever guns, and bolties. All that said, I absolutely love this rifle. The moment you pick this thing up, you feel how heavy and solid it is. It's an honest to goodness battle rifle and it comes in way under $1,000. You're getting a solid BR for less than most AR-15s sell for.
Now here's the thing. Because it's under that price, you need to give it TLC. It's going to be dirty, greasy, grimy, gritty, and rough. Before you go shooting it, strip this bad boy down and clean it thoroughly. Clean the chamber grooves and any part that mates with another. You're looking at 60 year old parts, so check those springs. For me, the cocking handle spring was deformed and weak from years of previous usage, so I got a brand new one from robertrtg dot com. The firing pin spring was also weak, although I had no issues with slam fires, I replaced it too with a stiffer one from HK from the same website just in case. This may void the warrranty with CAI, but I also took 2000 grit sandpaper to any piece that had rough areas. I had no problem with bolt gap, but look up online what the acceptable range is and make sure your bolt gap is working fine.
Follow the break-in procedure mentioned in the manual.
