Nifty little Federal Magnum .327; about as much impact as a .357 but without the recoil. Only negative for me was the too small grip so I changed it out for a Hogue and that worked great. Fun to shoot. Priced under $700.

Purchased this firearm and had an issue with the action/cylinder locking up. Called Ruger and they sent UPS a pickup notification and had it returned to me in a week with the issue remedied. I really like this revolver and I like how Ruger took care of this situation, and I got a great price on the firearm from Bud's.

Very disappointed. After two rounds, the trigger stuck in the depressed position. Had to be manually reset with my thumb after every round. Sending it back to Ruger after firing 10 rounds!

I have owned Ruger products for over thirty years and have owned more Rugers than any of the other firearms manufacturers. I have bought Ruger products for my wife and children, both recreation and self-defense. Having set the stage, my last three Ruger purchases have progressively gotten worse. Customer Service did a great job fixing my wife's SR22 and my son's sp101. My son's sp101 should not have gotten out the factory like that, but they made right. My last purchase, (which will be my last Ruger purchase unless quality agains soars heavenly), was another sp101 in 327 Fed Magnum for my wife. Thinking she could shoot some low power 32 caliber for self defense. I tried it out with 327 Fed. Mag. just to make sure it functioned as it should with the Fed. Magnums. The empty's were so tightly stuck in the cylinder that the range officer and I were actually pulling the cylinder off the yoke. Probably poorly cut cylinders from the factory, regardless this should never have left the factory. To their credit, Buds, refunded my money and made it right!!! I'll keep my older, dependable Rugers, but I wouldn't take a new one for free.

I am a big fan of the .32 caliber cartridge. I also have a Ruger Single Seven and LCR in .327 Federal Magnum. And, yes, I do reload. My recoil-sensitive wife loves shooting the S&W Longs and on our last range trip she shot some "bunny fart" .32 H&R magnum rounds I loaded up for her. My hope is to get her to try some Hornady H&R Critical Defense ammo on the next trip to the range. Personally, I like shooting the .327 Magnum and Buffalo Bore H&R Magnum P rounds. The heft of the gun mitigates a lot of the recoil, yet, it is still small enough to carry in my Alien Gear holster. The SP101 is built like a small tank, similar to my Redhawk, but way smaller. It is typical Ruger quality with a nice stainless steel finish. The somewhat meager sights were accurate right out of the box. I found the DA/SA pull to be a little on the heavy side (12-13 lbs and almost 6 lbs, respectively). My wife found it difficult to cock the hammer with one thumb. So I installed the MCARBO spring kit (www.mcarbo.com/ruger-sp101-/-gp100-trigger-spring-kit.aspx) after watching the YouTube video - thereby reducing the DA/SA pull to 8.4 and 3.0 lbs, respectively. I polished the sears, pawl, trigger spring tunnel, etc.. Overall , it is a wonderful small revolver that shoots a very versatile cartridge. I believe it should have a better trigger at this price point. Buds did their usual great job in getting this gun to me and at the best price I could find. I will buy all future guns through Buds.

I have several Ruger SP101 revolvers. This caliber is the cream of the crop. The capability of chambering several different cartridges and loads gives this pistol a wide range of uses. The 3"bbl is a nice length to carry and get good performance out of your desired load. Recoil of the heaviest of loads is not a consideration. I love these wheel guns, but if I had to pick just one to have, this would be it because of the versatility. I would buy again. Just a FYI, this firearm as gone up in price over $100 since I purchased it a few months ago. They are also hard to find. If you are on the fence, just buy it. You will not regret it. Ruger stands behind its products.

Ruger makes a tank in this 327 Federal SP101 my 4th SP101 great carry guns this 327 is a great magnum load but whats great about this gun is it also shoots 32 S&W long 32 H&R another magnum load as good as a 38 without any recoil 32 S&W and it can actually shoot 32 ACP a very versatile gun. Definitely can be used as a defensive CC gun since the 327 and 32 H&R definitely have enough stopping power.. This is a great gun 6 shot and a 3" barrel. Buds was great to deal with and love that 90 day layaway all around 5 stars for both...KCK
