Update... Went to the range today and was really impressed by my 9VE. That so called long trigger pull was really nothing. The more i shot the more i got used to it and my groupings got tighter. From 7 and 10 yrds very accurate 1-3 in and i just recentley started shooting again after more than 10 yrs. Fired 100rds with no problems what so ever. If you're just starting out or getting back into it you gotta get this 9VE. Fires great, feels good, and looks really damn good. Thanks for the great deal Buds....

Received my 9VE today (wed) after purchasing on Sat. Once again great job Buds for your great service and super quick shipping. My first reaction when i opened the case was WOW, that's a nice looking gun. Love the two tone look. And it feels real good in my medium size hands. Perfect size grip. Trigger doesn't seem as bad as some of the other reviews suggest. To me its a good safety feature. This is my second gun from Buds. First was an XD .45 ACP Compact i received last week. Love that gun too. Will give update after pumping a 100rds or so tomorrow at range. CAN'T WAIT....

This is the first time I have purchased a gun from Bud's and It has changed the way I buy guns. This gun for the money is one of the best guns you can find along with the Ruger P95. I purchased this gun just to have in my vehicle but after looking at the fit and finish it ended up in my gun safe. It really shoots well and fits my hand.

People seem to mention that the trigger pull is a little stiff, my take on that is that this gun is not made to be taken to a shooting event right out of the box, it is a working mans gun that is made to be carried. That being said the trigger being harder to pull is a good thing, it would take more force to accidentally pull the trigger.

On top of the great price here at Bud's there is usually a rebate on this gun so you can take advantage of that as well.

I give this gun 5 out of 5 for what it is, one of the best guns on the market for the price.

Great gun for the money. This was my first pistol purchase.. if you're trying to figure out which one to start with it's a good choice. It's a Smith & Wesson, good fit and finish and honestly... it's CHEAP! Very reliable, the slide is stainless, hi-capacity are all things it's got in it's favor.

The down side is the trigger pull. What people have called a "lawyer trigger" or a trigger that makes it very hard to accidentally discharge the weapon. If you are a gun nut and have lots of other pistols to compare it to... or you own some target pistols... or you are the type of guy who is always looking for the "perfect" gun... then you will be disappointed with this pistol.

But if this is your first gun purchase or a gun you liked to add to your collection then it's a great buy and a great value. It's not a pistol you'll want to go to the range with and go through boxes and boxes of ammo.

Bottom line... if you're looking for a good reliable gun, brand name = buy it!

(also, you can have spring replaced to reduce trigger pull)

Remember... the more guns you buy - the more guns you realize you need! Just start!

First time I purchased from Buds, and it won't be the last. Buds made the transaction effortless. I was holding the gun in 2 days.
Although the 9VE has a thougher trigger pull than my other handguns, it was a delight to shoot. No FTF's. No jams, and accurate.
I was so pleased with it, I told family, and friends. So far, 2 guys have bought one on my word alone.
Very happy with this gun.

Purchased the gun from Buds on Weds and had it in hand the next afteroon after overnight shipping, can't say enough about the excellenet transaction and turn around. I shot it today, but don't like the long trigger pull. It is an okay gun, but that trigger pull is really long, so much so that it really impacts the accuracy as you pull it all the way through. I can say one thing, no accidental discharges with this one, it ain't firing unless you pull that trigger a long way. I have Glocks, Springfields, Berettas, Sigs and FNs and this has the longest trigger pull of them all.

I have never bought a gun online before, but Buds did a fantastic job of shipping it to my local gun dealer, who charged me $25 to do the transfer. Still the best deal I could find anywhere. Haven't applied for the $50 rebate yet, but will do that tomorrow, as I just got the gun today. You have to go to Smith's web site to download the coupon. Bud's is great in my opinion.

It comes with two magazines which I missed on the specifications and some of reviews that I read. For the price after rebate, this is unbeatable value. As for the trigger issue soem mentioned, I was expecting far heavier pull but it feel totaly okay for me.

Buds did a great job shipping it right away, sending me several follow up emails with tracking info. It was overall pleasant experience doing business with this store - Thanks guys and wish you had a store down in Florida.

I just want to thank all the people who took the time to post reviews on this gun and Bud's gun shop. I received an email that my gun has been shipped so I should have it in a few days. I can't really post a review of the gun, since I have never owned a gun before, but because of something that recently happened on my property, I decided that I need to have something for personal protection. I did not want to spend more than $300.00 and from what I found this gun selling for at a local pawnshop $439.00 Bud's offered a great deal on it. I figured a 9mm would be a decent cal. to have. (I am not the Dirty Harry type) and didn't want something so big that I would not feel comfortable with it. I must say the service I got from Bud's was great. Fast, friendly. I might be looking for a little rifle down the road and I will for sure come back to Bud's when I do. The reviews on this gun sold me, since I really did not know what I really needed. After reading about 40 of them I felt that this gun would be a good choice.

I purchased this SW9VE from Buds a few weeks ago. My son and I went to the range today and shot 300 rounds. Not a single hiccup. My son shot the bull’s-eye out of the target at 25 yards with 6-8 shots (in a row) WOW!!
I agree the trigger pull is a bit stiff, but this does not affect accuracy at all.
We shot a few brands of ammo and found the Fiocchi FMJ 115 gr (purple box) made in Italy is spot on. We did oil the barrel and slides (lightly) 2 times to be safe. Not a single jam or miss-fire.
I will always prefer my revolvers (old school) that we also used today, but most all bull’s eyes were fired from the SW9VE.

This pistol is very nice, in my opinion. I have a medium sized hand, and I am very comfortable with the grip. I have fired a couple of magazines and it has operated flawlessly. I used Federal 115gr, FMJ. The recoil was not bad at all, and I have to say that I do not understand all of the gripes about a hard trigger pull. I am not convinced that I would want it much less. Bud's delivered in about a week (actually six days from on-line to FFL). Very satisfied.

I purchased my S&W SW9VE from Bud's. It was my first order from Bud's, and the customer satisfaction is no lie. very quick shipping.

The gun itself is a bit of nostalgia for me. The first gun I owned was the 40 version of this, and I traded it in towards my first 1911. Even though I'm now addicted to 1911's, I was always disappointed that I traded it. Besides for the trigger, which is, admittedly, awful, the gun is very good for the money.

Out of the 40 version, I never had any failures of any kind, over about 500 rounds. Out of the box on the nine, however, I had a few feeding issues within the first mag, but after that, no failures at all through my first 100 shots. I guess it just needed to warm up. I would have no problem recommending this for a home defense pistol, as long as you understand that the trigger is a ridiculously long pull....like maybe twice as hard as any other gun I've ever fired, which is quite a few. Hey, some people like that because it gives them a more secure feeling that the gun won't misfire. That's not what I feel about it, but I've heard that argument.

All-in-all, I would say if you are considering buying one, try out a friend's first to get a feel for the trigger first hand. If it's something you can tolerate, then the gun is definitely worth the money. For the price range, I might recommend a Taurus Millennium Pro over this, for about 50 dollars more, plus it's a little more concealable, if that's what you are looking for.

I even talked my wife into firing off a few rounds. She fell in love with it. And she is not someone who is in love with guns at all. I'm giving this gun to her and I will be purchasing a Taurus Judge for myself then we're taking the Conceal/Carry classes from Bud's. This is a great deal. Go for it! You won't regret it. A+ for the staff at Bud's. Luckily, I work only a few miles from Bud's and was able to make my purchase during my lunch hour. I will definitely be making my next purchase at Bud's.

I've owned this pistol for about a year now and carry it every day. Some people don't like the trigger but I love it. Less chance of accidentally firing with the heavier pull. I even used it for my FL state firearms proficency exam and shot a score of 238 out of 240 on the range. Mind you, this is my first handgun. The accuracy is near perfect. I wouldn't trade this in for anything and plan on getting the .40 cal next.

Hard to beat for the dollar. For my own comfort, I slipped on a rubber grip sleeve and found a custom laser (one piece) and Feel it is as complete as I need it to be. 300+ rounds and not a single misfeed or FTE. The fit for me is great and raises to target readily- like second nature. Trigger issues don't bother me- this isn't a match shooting weapon and if use on a BG becomes necessary, adrenaline will negate any concern or whining about trigger pull. I have not felt the need for trigger work at this point, I have learned it and am comfortable with it as is. The Sigma is an excellent primary or backup, stripping is relatively simple, and the ergos are very well planned and designed. High quality, low price. Those merits alone make it a 5'er.

Great gun for the price. Like others have noted it does have a 9 pound trigger pull which for me is not a problem since I will never be a marksman. For those who do want very accurate shots get the spring changed for the trigger and lower the pull to 7 or 5.

Very easy to disassemble and clean. Looking at the other 9 mm for the price it’s easily the best bang for the buck. I want another 9 mm but do I pay $600 for a Glock and find out it’s no better than the S&W? I would be REALLY pissed.

I have fired 1,000 rounds or more and after the first 200 it doesn’t misfire. Nothing but cheapo ammo. I keep it cleaned and in pristine condition and it always fires. I do rapid fire without any problems. The gun gets used at least once a month.

The perfect self defense weapon for the casual gun enthusiast or people on a budget.

This gun will do everything a Glock will do and you can actually wrap your hand around

Dry fire it a few times, loosen the springs up, it will never Jam, and is a tackdriver.

It is a NON ISSUE. The trigger is fine, and anyone that cannot pull this trigger must be 90 years old.
It's just like a DA revolver. It feels like maybe 8 pounds. No big deal and no real effort.
Basically this is a Glock for half the price. The best gun buy around, Period!
Buy it, you won't regret it. How this gun has remained a "secret" best buy I don't have a clue, except Glock put out a lot of bad PR on it. It must have had them worried big time.
People say Sigma and turn up their nose, well they wouldn't if they owned it.

The pistol: I ordered one of these SW9VE on an impulse, I was online to buy a M&P 9mm but I just couldn't resist the savings. I have now put 750 rounds through it (3 packs of the 250 count remington UMC 9mm mega pack) and have not yet had a single malfunction. I am also a relatively new shooter (to handguns that is) but at 15 yards I hold 3.5" groups centered on the bull's eye with this gun. I could not be happier, and the amount of money I saved on the pistol bought me 1000 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Bud's Service: I will not complain because I undersstand they have been under a lot of load since the election I will just report the stats. I ordered it and it took 12 days to arrive at my FFL in Cali. Thanks to my FFL holding weird hours and the 10 day Cali waiting period it ended up taking 26 calendar days from the time I purchased the gun on buds till the time I got my hands on it. All in all, with the massive number of firearms orders since immigrant obama bin biden won the election, I think buds has done great. But, if you do not have the patience to wait 26 calendar days, you should just buy from your local dealer.

I'm quite happy with this firearm, as well as the service I recieved from Bud's. Add a Hogue Hand-All to your order as it's a *must-have* for this too. I'm still pretty green, but I was able to get 3-inch groupings at 10yds, a tiny bit low and to the left (for some reason, lots of people have reported this). I'm about 500 rds into it without a single FTF or FTE.

Thanks, Bud's!

I bought one of these guns a month ago from Buds and couldn't be happier with it. Some complain about the trigger pull but it never was an issue for me. It is a little tight but it's a great safety feature especially if you carry one. Great self defense gun, very well made, There has been a lot of bad press about this gun but I think you really need to see one and try it for yourself!

The Sigma, as they say, is what it is. nice looking pistol but hard on the trigger that affects accuracy.

If you are looking for a target pistol look elsewhere. If you are seeking the absolute best value in a self defense and easy to carry pistol this is the one. I have fired over 1000 rds through mine with no jams whatsoever. This gun eats up any ammo I feed it, and the great looks are a bonus. The only negative is the long trigger pull, which makes accuracy an issue, at least for me.

Not a bad pistol, but I recommend that you actually fire one before you buy one. The trigger pull is intense, but thats your only safety. Because of the trigger pull, its hard to keep steady which affects your accuracy. It has never jammed on me, and its pretty easy to break down.

This is without a doubt the best value in any handgun available today at any price. Well made, easy to strip and reliable. I first bought a SW40VE and am now about to purchase a SW9VE. The Sigma has now replaced my Colt as my everyday carry weapon. Don't expect to use this as a sub-MOA target pistol because it's not. Rather, it is a superb close quarters, personal defense weapon and it excels in that department. The only regret I have is not buying more when they were $269.

I bought two last year when they were $269.00 Couldn't be more pleased. The trigger pull is tight but every time I pull it, it goes BANG. This is not a cadillac or $1,000.00 gun and it doesn't shot like one, BUT it works and is more effective then a rock, a stick, a bat, or begging and pleading for the bad guy or rabid animal not to hurt you. A great gun for the price. Every review I read uses the same comment of "it is what it is" and what it is, is a Smith & Wesson that goes bang every time you pull the trigger and is less than $300.00!!! Bud's has the best prices anywhere. Try the Sigma, you won't be disappointed.

The Sigma, as they say, is what it is. So it doesn't have a crisp, single action trigger... it isn't a single action!
Took my new from Buds Sigma out this weekend for it's initial tryout and I'm happy as can be. Got an inexpensive back-up that I (not a good pistol shot) can keep within a closed fist at 7 yards shooting fairly rapidly.
I'm giving it 5 stars because I'm not comparing it to a $1000.00 + 1911.
It is what it is and what it is ain't bad. For you all that didn't buy when S&W had their spring special on, think hard before you pass up on the summer special, you may well be sorry.

Buds gets 5 stars too!

Just got mine out to the range last Saturday. Could not be happier with the gun. Long trigger pull is a little different, but nothing you can't overcome.
I highly recommend. for the money you can't go wrong.

They use a long trigger pull for people who use shooting gloves that they can feel the trigger before it fires. Thats what I have been told by professoinal shooters. Hope this helps some people.

I agree with the first person's review it does have a preaty long trigger pull. So do most of the guns I have though. It takes a little getting used to. However it is a preaty good gun and really well priced. Not fond of the tear down its kind of complicated and I dont like the fact that u have to pull the trigger. Its a good gun dont get me wrong havent had any problems with it and it feeds well.

I purchased mine several weeks ago. While I was waiting for it to arrive I read a fairly critical review - someone who didn't like the trigger and consequently couldn't get the gun to shot the way the wanted it to shoot (presumably they wanted to be able to hit a target accurately).

At any rate I was a little nervous about the gun. When it arrived it took me a little while to get used to the trigger - it has a long pull. But, once I started to use a preload on the trigger - i.e. pulling it in about 3/4 of the way in anticipation of the final pull (always pointed at the target of course), my accuracy has gone up considerably - hit 5 / 5 bulls tonight at 7 yards. Could probably now repeat the feat indefinately now that I'm comfortable with the gun.

This is a great gun and a tremendous value.
