Yes it is the LCP is a very good little gun trigger pull is a little long

The LCP 380 has a smooth slide bu the recoil spring makes it require a moderate effort for slide racking. It is suitable for your wife. I tested this and the Taurus PT-111 and went with the Taurus which in my opinion was smoother and twice the round count in not much bigger a package. My wife loves hers.

the problem with Taurus is their quality is hit or miss and their customer service is not very good Ruger has superb customer service

Hi Robert, The LCP is very smooth gun, Like mentioned the slide (at first) may require some effort, but after some firing it should loosen up the spring some. I noticed this with my daughters .380 at first and now she has no issues at all with it. Hope this helps!
