If this is the rifle its made for a scope it includes a weaver style rail https://ruger.com/products/1022Tactical/specSheets/1261.html https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/69841/ruger+1022+.22+lr+black+syn+carbine
Most 10/22 models that don't specifically include a different rail setup include a combination Weaver scope mount. The included base is intended for mounting scopes/optics with either Weaver rings or .22 tip-off mounts/rings, the exact type of which would be determined by the optic you'd want to mount like a rimfire scope of some kind. For mounts or optics outside of those types, a Picatinny rail segment is usually more useful for all manner of red dot sights and other more universal scope mounts, one example being: https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/109453/ruger+90465+10+22+%26+charger+scope+base+1-piece+picatinny+base+black+finish Iron sights are not particularly well suited to these models out of the box as they don't have a front sight mounted near the muzzle already like the more standard 10/22 models.
Hi Greg, the 10/22 Tactical does not come with sights. It does come with a combination scope base adapter for both Weaver-style and .22 tip-off scope mounts included. If you did not get this with your gun, contact Ruger for a replacement 336-949-5200 (Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm ET)
