Hi Alex, this has a fixed magazine, so it is NJ legal. The Daniel Defense California compliant design prevents the magazine release button from being engaged while fully assembled, locking the magazine into the receiver. To release the magazine from the rifle, the shooter will be required separate the upper from the lower by pulling on an extended (rear) takedown pin with an attached cord to make the process easier. Hi Alex and welcome. Yes Sir, this is NJ legal as the "fixed magazine" excludes it from one of the restrictions that would normally bar this in NJ. To change magazine, simply pop the rear take-down pin, swivel the lower from the upper, change the mag and close and re-pin. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
