Hello, is the receiver tapped for a scope rail system. When installing the scope on the rail, will the scope sight be above the stock front optic sight. Trying to decide between this 870 or the cantilever 870. The only drawback on the cantilever is it has a 23" barrel. The non cantilever has a 20" barrel.

Hi Steven and welcome. Yes, it is drilled and tapped and "Medium Height" Scope Rings will give you plenty of clearance. The 20 inch barrel would be my personal choice. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

Yes, this Remington model 870 Fieldmasters Receiver is Drilled & Tapped. I don't see any issue with the scope clearing the front optic whatsoever.
