Hi Raub and welcome. Same, just .223 is recommended since the barrel is stamped .223REM. If stamped 5.56NATO then both could be used. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

Hi Raub, this will safely fire .223 only, is is not rated for the higher pressures that 5.56 generates. Stay safe & have a great day!

sorry its not safe to use 5.56 ammo in this gun. As a General rule if it says .223 it is not safe with 5.56. If it says 5.56 it will be fine with both .223 and 5.56
