Hi Michael and welcome. Yes, weight goes a long way in recoil absorption amongst a few other variables like recoil spring weight and ergonomic design of the pistol. The lighter Bodyguard will recoil slightly more but not by a large margin due to the recoil spring setup. It is a vast improvement over the original Bodyguard. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
