Hi Harold and welcome. Yes, Savage Axis and Savage Axis 2 magazines are interchangeable because they use the same magazine design; the primary difference between the two rifles is the inclusion of the AccuTrigger on the Axis 2, which does not affect magazine compatibility. Cheers and stay safe!

Hi Harold, yes sir, this will work on the standard Axis. The AXIS II continues to utilize proprietary Savage magazines, the same as the original Axis. Stay safe & have a great day!
