Hi Philip, to lawfully add a vertical fore grip to a handgun, a person must submit an ATF Form 1, Application to Make and Register a Firearm along with a fingerprint card bearing the applicant's fingerprints, a photograph, and $200 making tax. ATF has long held that by installing a vertical fore grip on a handgun, the handgun is no longer designed to be held and fired by the use of a single hand. Therefore, if individuals install a vertical fore grip on a handgun, they are "making" a firearm requiring registration with ATF's NFA Branch. Unless you are willing to jump through these hoops, I would forget the whole idea.
Hi Philip and welcome. This is a Pistol/Handgun and a Vertical Grip needs NFA Registration and $200 Tax Stamp. An angled grip is legal: https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/1138/magpul+afg-2+ar+platform+black+polymer --------- Cheers and stay safe!
