Hi Jackie and welcome. Quality is exceptional for the price. Instructions are laid out straight forward on initial setup. The device attached is an Infra Red Illuminator which is the source of light/wavelength that allows the night vision capability when viewing through the scope at night and not a flashlight with traditional light/lumens.
