Debating on which to model to get especially in regards to the cost of the shells.  From my limited research, the RB model only uses the sabot shotgun slug?

Hi Phetsmone and welcome. The rifled barrel will be much more accurate with Sabot or Rifled Slugs. If you intend to use the shotgun for more than 4-legged game, the Smooth bore version using Foster Type Slugs will be more versatile with Birdshot, Buckshot and Foster Type Slugs.
