It's a great little pistol. I wouldn't recommend it to a brand new shooter. Having such a small frame it can be snappy and uncomfortable for some people. I have bigger hand and can't seem to find a good grip on these things, but everybody is different. As an somebody with experience shooting handguns and who has felt and enjoys shooting these smaller framed .380s you might love this pistol. It's a Ruger, great customer service in my experience. I have shot many of these (I work at a public range) and have had to help many people learn to shoot them. Overall they are easy to shoot and accurate. The only drawback is that they tend to wear out quickly if you shoot them a lot, but Ruger (here in Prescott, Az) so far has replaced or repaired them without question. If you want a cheap pocket pistol they are a great choice and the people who shoot occasionally have no trouble with them. If you are a serious shooter and will put lots of rounds through a 380 in practice get a SIG 238 (that's what I have).

It's a great little pistol but will not stand up to lots of shooting. I work at a public range and get to shoot lots of them. The serious shooters wear them out but Ruger here in Prescott replaces or fixes them without question. If you will not shoot it much it's a great gun.

It's a nice summer carry gun. Very light, get a pocket holster, goes right in my front pocket. You can carry it everywhere and forget you are carrying a gun. Because it is so light, it has a snappy recoil if you are not use to shooting much. But this is the type of gun that you carry a lot and shoot occasionally. It is a small grip, pick one up and hold it before you purchase. In colder weather I like a snub nose 38, but it's heavier and harder to conceal in summer clothing. I got the ruger with the laser and I love it, really helps with the aiming.

It fits really well in a couple different concealed carry holsters I have from amaz. It is a bit snappy but the only other small everyday carry I've found that feels as nice is a 22lr which does NOT have the stopping power like this one does.

The ruger lcp 380 is a good little gun,pretty reliable it is snappy cun it's light waight frame and size but then again most 380's are..... but it's perfect for carrying. I personally have the the bersa 380 wich I think is great, other than the LCP 380 check out the M&P shield 9mm twice the stopping power and just as comfortable.

If I was to go back I probably would have skipped this purchase. The gun is a pocket pistol at best and having larger hands I should've spent the little extra money and went with an M&P shield.

I've been a police officer for more than 30 years. I've carried everything, every way possible. The best every day carry is the one you will actually carry. The Ruger LCP 380 is an awesome carry gun. It's a great size, decent caliber, and a quality manufacturer. Plus it's small enough - you will carry it. I own more than 20 handguns to include all 3 S&W Shields... I carry the LCP! It fits anywhere, and it fires every time. Keep in mind it's a belly gun, keep it close and personal and you will regard this little jewel as your best purchase ever. If you want a firearm to carry to the Piggly Wiggly to pickup a loaf of bread, and hope you never have to look over the barrel at a another person - go ahead and place your order. If you anticipate engaging targets at greater than 15 yards, or shooting a 1,000 rounds a month this handgun is not for you.
