My advise is since you are new to guns id don't trade or change guns yet. Find a good Range and rent/try as many different guns as you can. By PZ4 I assume that you are talking about a PX4 beretta which is a good gun the take down on a lot of guns are frustrating until you do it a time or 2 then it gets easier If you are anywhere near the outerbanks of NC let me know and you can try any of my guns
The XD Mod 2 9mm Sub Compact will save some weight and is in my opinion much easier to take down for cleaning. You should go to a local gun store and experience a few sub compacts first hand. The staff should be helpful with showing you the take down on several models. Once you decide then trade with Buds for that model. You can get an idea of trade value by going to this link and entering your pistols information for a value quote towards trade : https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/contact_us.php?printForm=trades
It may be a better fit. The best thing would be if you can go to your local shop or range and put one in your hands.
sub compacts are harder to shoot with more recoil so that could also be a problem as a new shooter try as many guns a possible before changing. larger guns are more pleasant to shoot but harder to carry
