Hi Mark and welcome. There is a rear sight built into the rear Channel. Same as 3rd picture down here: https://gunsmagazine.com/discover/taurus-model-856-defender-and-ultralite/

Hi Mark, it looks like it doesn't line up, but the front sight is tall enough that you can look down the channel and see the front sight.
