Hi Mark and welcome. On a Beretta pistol, "commercial" indicates that the firearm is intended for civilian sale on the open market, as opposed to a military-issue model which might have specific modifications or features designed for military use; essentially, a commercially available Beretta is not made specifically for a government contract and is sold to the general public. Cheers and stay safe!
Hi Mark, the commercial model is sold to civilians, as opposed to the military model. The Beretta M9 Commercial model is as close as you are going to get to owning the pistol used by the military without enlisting in the Army or Marine Corp. It is a near copy of the armed forces pistol. Stay safe & have a great day!
