What's the difference between the 2 mos 43x. They have different serial numbers and ones 485 and ones 490.41. They are both mos and both are same basic black. Also can't get a straight answer if there's different gens for 43 and 43x. I see people on here and web have said both yes and no. Thank you for help.

Hi Chris and welcome. The only difference is the $485 model is Made in Austria (P Model Number = Made in Austria) and the $490 is Mage in the USA (U Model Number = Made in USA). Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

Hi Chris, other than the fact that one is made in Austria and the other in the US, they are exactly the same.
If the model number starts with U, it is made in the US. If it starts with P, it is Austrian made.
The 43X is a Gen 5, the 43 is a Gen 4

The difference between the two 43x mos models you're asking about is simply geographic.
The one model starting with a P is made in Austria while the other model starting with a U is made in the USA.
Many claim the 43x is a stand alone model not classified by Gen but, it does have The Gen 5 Marksman barrel.
