In the absence of printed/engraved markings there are often small notches in the muzzle end (not the 2 or 4 large notches for installation/removal) corresponding to their constriction. Generally 1 for full, 2 for improved modified, 3 for modified, 4 for improved cylinder, 5 for cylinder. If those are not present, more information about the brand/origin of what you have might be helpful.
Hi Doug, the chokes are 'notched'. One notch is full choke, 2- Improved modified, 3 - modified, 4- improved cylinder, 5 - cylinder. The notches are on the end of the chokes opposite the threads, so you can see them without removing the choke from the barrel. Stay safe & have a great day!
Hi Doug and welcome. There should be notches (on the front of the choke tube) identifying the choke restriction as shown here: https://www.shotgunworld.com/threads/choke-notch-and-distance-chart.472736/ ----------- Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
