Hi Mark and welcome. Yes, since this firearm has a 3-inch chamber, it can fire 3 inch and shorter (2.5) inch shell no issue. Same concept as a .357 Magnum being able to fire the shorter .38 Special ammunition. Cheers, stay safe and happy holidays!
