Hi Timothy and welcome. Yes, the Gen 4s are +P rated. +P is the designation for a little extra powder added to ammunition that creates extra pressure when fired to increase velocity and bullet impact energy. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
I would check with Diamondback as the owners manual I am looking as on page 5 says (in Red) " NOTICE: Due to potential cyclical problems involving recoil energy, Diamondback Firearms does not recommend the use of any 9mm SAMMI Specification ammunition in bullet weights exceeding 124 grain. The use of +P, +P+, reloaded, or NON-SAMMI Spec ammunition will void the firearms warranty." contact diamondback here https://diamondbackfirearms.com/contact/ owners manual here https://www.budsgunshop.com/prod_mans/23339-0000141006-002.pdf
Hi Tim, straight from the Gen 4 ownwer's manual - "All Diamondback DB9 (Generation 4) model pistols are approved by Diamondback for use with SAAMI specification +P ammunition. It is important to note that while +P ammunition is now allowed for use in this model, it is not necessarily pleasant to shoot through a handgun this small and will require a firm and proper grip to ensure proper cycling and functionality. Use of +P ammunition may also result in the need for more frequent service and/or reduce the service life of the firearm. . Overpressure ammunition, commonly designated as +P or +P+, is small arms ammunition that has been loaded to produce a higher internal pressure when fired than is standard for ammunition of its caliber. . Randy's answer is from the Gen 1-3 owner's manual. See Gen 4 manual here , pg 4 >>> https://diamondbackfirearms.com/wp-content/uploads/Diamondback-Pistol-Manual-2022-Revision.pdf . Stay safe & have a great day!
