The red button on the sides of the gun allow you to turn on the laser and select continuous or pulse link to info sheet https://www.smith-wesson.com/sites/default/files/spec-sheets/11671.pdf

Hi Robert, No its not it is activated by the ambidextrous red buttons on either side of the firearm.
