It would work but not optimal Michael. This configuration would be fast handling though. It's not a competition model but take a look at the Mossberg 930 field. I have one and have been pleased with it.

Hi Michael, Yes, it will work but better options like 590 would be better. I just received mine today and adding a Burris fast fire lll It will work but its more of a home defense tactical shotgun.

no the dynamics are all off to be a clays gun it will not swing very well many ranges will not allow "home defense" type shotguns get a good field/hunting type shotgun I shoot completion skeet and sporting my clays gun is a 30 inch 9.5 lb over under that helps make my swing smooth and have a good follow through
