The Glock 17 Glock pistols have three independent safeties that work in sequence when the trigger is moved: Trigger safety: A lever in the trigger that prevents it from moving rearward - Firing pin safety: A mechanical safety that prevents the firing pin from moving forward - Drop safety: The trigger bar rests on the safety ramp and prevents the firing pin from moving forward.
