Hi Cindie, you push the button on the right side of the stock, which I m sure you are doing. I would imagine it is tight/stiff and needs to be worked a bit. It may just need a little elbow grease. Try getting someone else to push the button while you try to work the stock free. Also make sure you are pushing the button in far enough. Try using a wooden dowel to push it in all the way. If none of that works, perhaps a call to Iver Johnson can shed some light.
