The Ruger is higher quality but it depends on what you are getting for the return for your $. Just calculate which meets your needs best and make the decision. Cheers and stay safe!

Hi, i agree with James. I have owned a high point in the past. I think for the money. The high point does do what it should. High point has come a long way from being horrible. In many cases you get what you pay for. If I like a gun, I like it. I'm not a name brand guy per say. But you do get a better quality with higher brans names
