You can simply go to any gun store in MD, pick out an AR-15, and walk out with it on the same day without any licenses.

If you are buying online/out of state, you must ensure that the rifle stamped/identified as an HBAR. (Heavy Barrel)

Hi James and welcome. As long as the AR-15 rifle has the MD required "Heavy Profile Barrel" (H-BAR) you will have no issues. MD just requires a heavy Barrel I agree with Jason Check your local gun store Compare prices to online including transfer fee and shipping and if you dont save much support the local FFL
