Most good (large) gun safes do not come with a backup key I have 2. One amsec and one cannon one digital and one mechanical and neither of them came with a backup key some of the lesser quality gun safes come with keys because they have locks that are prone to failure. Most small desktop handgun safes come with backup key. if you need to ask about specific models we will be glad to help
