Yes, you can. If it were chambered for 2.5" then you wouldn't shoot the 3".

Hi Douglas and welcome. Yes Sir. A 3-inch chamber can for the shorter 2.5-inch shells no issue. Same concept as a .357 Magnum being able to fire .38 Special. Cheers and stay safe!
