These lil guys like a hotter, Higher velocity round.

I've had one for a couple of years now and the only ammo that's given it trouble are subsonic and CCI Velocitor ammo. The Velocitor causes the slide to lock open on mine, the subsonic isn't quite powerful enough. Anything else - it's happy with.
