According to the operators manual the safety is a cross button located behind the trigger on the trigger guard.

No Tang safety, this model has a Cross bolt safety located on the trigger guard.

Hi Mark, this has a manual cross-button trigger safety. I have never seen a pump action shotgun that did not have a safety. Stay safe & have a great day!
