while you can shoot 40 S&W in a 10mm Shooting .40 S&W in a 10mm firearm is not recommended. Typically, .40 S&W barrels are not designed to shoot 10mm cartridges, and doing so can cause damage to the firearm. the problem is head spacing as a rimless case both 10mm and 40 are made to headspace on the mouth of the case the 40 is to short for proper headspacing and is relying on the extractor to hold the case. It will most likely void your warranty

Hi Brian and welcome. Yes, it will. Same concept as a .357 Mag firing the shorter .38 Special. When firing the shorter round, it will build up a carbon ring at the chamber throat due to the shorter cartridge so cleaning may be required so longer 10mm rounds won't bind up or stick. James that is not correct the 357 and 38 headspace on the rim not on the mouth of the case when firing a 40 s&w in a 10mm chamber the only thing holding the case is the small extractor.
