Hi Tim and welcome. This model is not a Series 80 firearm, nor is it a Series 70. It utilizes a Swartz safety system, which is a variation of the older firing pin safety system that was used by Colt before the Series 80. This system is distinct from both the Series 70 and Series 80 firing pin safety systems. These 1911s use the Swartz firing pin safety system, which is activated by the grip safety rather than the trigger. A Hybrid of sorts. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
