Hi Dennis and welcome. Since the barrel is less than 16 inches (12.5 inches) with a brace rather than a shoulder stock, it is classified as a standard handgun/pistol. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

Hi Dennis, this is classified as a pistol. It does not have a stock, so it is not a rifle. It has a pistol brace and can be purchased without a tax stamp as long as it is legal in your state. Stay safe & have a great day!
