Hi Michael and welcome. This model comes with (1) 10rd and (2) 5rd Magazines. All are +1 with a Shell in the chamber. Hi Michael, this comes with (1) 10rd magazine and (2) 5rd mags. Yes, this means 10 in the magazine and 1 in the chamber, for a total of 11 rounds. 
It will not reliably cycle mini shells. Being a pump action, there should be no break in period necessary.

There will be no break in since its a pump action. Mini shells will not cycle. 10 in mag 1 in chamber. 2 five round mags, 1 ten round mag. It uses standard 1919 magazine.

No break-in needed, send those rounds down range!! Yes. 10 + 1 chambered. The Magazines Included are:(1)-10 round & (2)-5round Magazines. The Mini shells wouldn't cycle reliably out of this Emperor.
