Does the SF (short frame) mean that it's actually shorter in grip size, or thinner in grip size? I have the G20 Gen 5 and she's a chunky monster, hoping this is thinner?

Your Gen5 has the same dimensions as the SF, and you won't notice any difference between them.  The Gen 4 and 5 G20 uses the SF dimensions, but have extra back straps to make them a little bigger.
