Hi Paul, the detachable 'box' magazine is actually a stick magazine. I would use the dedicated RB22 magazine budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/112798/rossi+rb22+22+lr+rb22+10rd+black+detachable , Although RS22 and Plinkster mags will work, they are slightly different. The RB22 follower (green) does not protrude. RB22 magazines used in the RS22 fail to hold the bolt open after last shot and you end up dry firing if you do not count your rounds. RS22 (and Plinkster) magazines used in the RB22 prevent closing the bolt after the last round. Stay safe & have a great day!
