Good morning to you!! To answer the rest of your question, the front sight is removable but require a bit of work. The pin holding the front sight in mist be drilled out the front sight replaced, the drilled for a new pin. Needless to say that this is a job for a gunsmith or machinist. The Taurus 627 isn't drilled and tapped for a sight mount but you can get a mount on eBay (see below for link) for the Taurus 10-034 mount that attaches to the rib of the pistol. Hi Brandon and welcome. Please watch this video in its entirety. The Taurus 10-034 mount is designed for the longer barreled 627 with the ribbed barrel. yes a good gunsmith can do what you want but it will be pricey

Hi Brandon, the 10-34 mount referenced below is for the 6.5" barrel, it will not work on this gun. You can replace the rear sight with this Allchin Taurus tracker RMR mount >>> allchin Taurus tracker RMR mount .
