Greg, the "Standard Barrel" 10/22's is the way to go. The Bull Barrel models are at the overall weight limit of 7.5lbs already. You fire with standard sporter-type rimfire rifles that can weigh no more than 7 ½ pounds, with sights and sling. Example at 5.2lbs before accessories like scope and sling : https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/70279/Ruger+10%2F22+Deluxe+Model+10%2F22DSP%2C+22+LR+18+1%2F2+Blued+Barre
