Hi Humberto, yes, you still need to swap out the mag release. It is required to swap out your plastic OEM mag catch with either the Shield standard steel magazine catch or the premium steel magazine catch. Stay safe & have a great day!

Hi Humberto and welcome. Yes Sir. Even with the 3rd Gen magazine, the plastic magazine release lever should be swapped out to a metal magazine release lever. The plastic stock one would not last long. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

Absolutely you still do need to swap out the Plastic Mag catch for the Shield Steel catch. Otherwise, you're gonna chew that stock plastic catch up!!
