Hi Alethea, just disassemble, clean and lube the rails and try again. Brand new guns can have metal shavings that can keep the slide from going completely into battery. Let us know the results. Cheers and stay safe!
Good evening to you!! If cleaning fire and trying again doesn't work contact Glock USA at the below address/ phone number. Hope this helps. Have a good rest of your weekend. To make a claim under this warranty, contact GLOCK, Inc. at: 6000 Highlands Parkway, Smyrna, GA 30082 or call (770) 432-1202 for instructions on how to return your pistol.
Without knowing you, here's a couple things to keep in mind. Did you disassemble it out of the box, clean & lube before shooting? Owners manual suggests doing this. What type of ammo did you use? Are you an experienced shooter? If no to that, then are you gripping the pistol correctly and not limp wristing it? All things above can be a factor in a FTE or a jam from magazine to feeding ramp?
Contact Glock @ 770.432.1202 and ask for support. Many questions like: What ammo did you use? Limp wrist?
