An Ar is perfect. Add an eotech sight and you can't miss
Your best bet is a cheaper model. They are just as good as the real expensive model and are not part specific. Most of your top dollar ar rifles are not any better than your cheaper ones. I would not buy a smith or a ruger as they are both part specific, meaning that they take special parts and their parts will not interchange like the other guns. Hope this helps..
I bought a low dollar AR15 and have slowly made it into exactly what I want. I would say that mine is comparable to some of the high dollar ones on the market. I use mine for pig hunting and it is chambered in 7.62x39. Best hog gun for me!
The DPMS Oracle is on sale right now and a good buy. Add a Vortex SPARC and you're in business. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/70770/DPMS+RFA3-OC+Oracle+30+1+223REM5.56NATO+16%22

I bought the ATI Omni Maxxx from here for under $450 and I absolutely LOVE the rifle! Not one jam, failure to feed or fire! It's awesome and eats whatever I put in it (steel, brass). Lifetime warranty and a good product to buy to save money for the scope!
