Yes it does have the wooden dowel limiter installed. Removal: If you're not using the shotgun for migratory bird hunting, you can remove this dowel to increase the magazine capacity. For the Maverick 88, this involves removing the barrel and shaking the dowel out of the magazine tube. Capacity Increase: Once the dowel is removed, the magazine capacity will increase, typically allowing for a 5+1 capacity (five in the magazine and one in the chamber) when using 2-3/4" shells. Important Note: If you plan on removing the shell limiter, be sure to keep it in case you need to re-install it for legal hunting purposes.
